Document formatting refers to the layout and appearance of content. This adds consistency throughout and makes it easier to read. Formatting characteristics include font type and size, bold, underline, italic, and line spacing. There are times, like when content has been copied and pasted from another source that contains different formatting, when you may want to clear the formatting so your document does not contain any unwanted formatting characteristics.
