JAWS Power Tip: How To Quickly Locate Text with the JAWS Find Command

The JAWS Find command is a powerful tool that helps you quickly locate specific words or phrases on a page, especially when standard search shortcuts like CTRL+F aren’t available.

This is particularly useful in applications such as Adobe Reader, where searching within a PDF may not work as expected with typical keyboard shortcuts.

It can also be used in a document, on a web page, or in an email in Outlook to locate text.

To open the JAWS Find dialog, press JAWS KEY+F (that’s INSERT+F if you use the desktop keyboard layout, or CAPS LOCK+F if you use the laptop layout).

Type the word or phrase you want to find, then press ENTER.

JAWS will move the focus to the first occurrence of your search term and read it aloud. Press F3 to find the next occurrence, and SHIFT+F3 to find the previous occurrence.
