JAWS Power Tip: How To Spell the Current Word with JAWS

If you’re unsure about the spelling of a word while reading or editing, JAWS can quickly spell it out for you.

This is especially helpful for catching typos, learning new words, or confirming tricky spellings as you work.

To Spell the Current Word:

1. In Desktop Keyboard layout, press INSERT+NUMPAD 5 twice quickly.
2. In Laptop Keyboard layout, press CAPS LOCK+K twice quickly.

JAWS will read the word under your cursor, then spell it letter by letter.
