Layered keystrokes in JAWS are special shortcuts that let you perform powerful actions by pressing keys in sequence, rather than all at once.
This makes it easier to access advanced features without needing to remember complex key combinations, which is especially helpful for users who prefer fewer simultaneous key presses.
Layered commands are performed by pressing JAWS KEY+SPACEBAR to access the command layer, followed by other keys to finish the command.
The JAWS key is INSERT if you are using the Desktop keyboard Layout, and CAPS LOCK if you are using the Laptop Keyboard Layout.
Examples of layered commands include:
β« JAWS KEY+SPACEBAR,F1 to access Vispero Companion
β« JAWS KEY+SPACEBAR, T to access the Table Layer.
To access a list of all available layered commands, press JAWS KEY+SPACEBAR, QUESTION MARK.
