JAWS Power Tip: How To Create and Navigate Tabs in Google Docs

In Google Docs, tabs can help you organize your document. Use them as sections for easier navigation. Each section can contain specific content that you can easily navigate to using the keyboard.

To create a tab, press SHIFT+F11. Focus is placed in that tab where you can enter content.

To navigate to a tab:

1.) Press CTRL+ALT+S, CTRL+ALT+H to show the tabs.

2.) Press ENTER on the tabs button. JAWS announces the number of tabs in the document.

Use the up and down arrow keys to navigate the tabs and press ENTER on the one you want to select. Focus is placed on that tab in your document where you can read and edit the content.
