When using ZoomText, limiting the mouse pointer to only horizontal or vertical movement helps you move through information more accurately and smoothly.
For example:
β« Horizontal movement makes it easier to follow a single row of text or data without accidentally moving up or down.
β« Vertical movement helps you move through columns or lists without drifting sideways.
β« The pointer stays on a predictable path, which reduces unwanted movement and makes it easier to track information on a magnified screen.
β« This can reduce eye strain and improve reading efficiency, especially when working with spreadsheets, tables, menus, or long lines of text.
In short, constrained mouse movement helps you navigate rows and columns more precisely and comfortably.
To toggle pointer constraints on or off:
By default, horizontal and vertical pointer constraint is turned off. To use this feature, you must enable the Mouse Navigation setting, “Hold Shift key to move only horizontally or vertically.”
To enable this setting:
1.) From the ZoomText menu, choose Navigation > Mouse.
2.) In the Navigation Settings dialog, select βHold Shift key to move only horizontally or vertically.β
3.) Click OK to save the change.
4.) To save this setting permanently, choose Configuration > Save As Default from the ZoomText menu.
Once enabled, press and hold the SHIFT key while moving the mouse. The mouse pointer will then move only horizontally or vertically, depending on the initial direction of movement.
