Today I’m welcoming a new Sponsor to Top Tech Tidbits, an indie Apple-platform studio I’ve been watching for the better part of two years.
I first started paying close attention to Techopolis in mid-2024, around the time Chief Operations Officer Taylor Arndt joined and the company’s quiet operating cadence accelerated sharply. I followed Perspective Intelligence through its November 2025 launch and watched the team ship rapid corrective updates after Perspective Intelligence 1.5 in February 2026, direct, public, and unflinching about what needed to be fixed and why. By the time Perspective Transcribe launched on March 30, 2026, I had already decided this was a studio whose work belonged in front of our 45,000+ readers each week.
Techopolis is the rare AI studio whose leaders don’t have to imagine what the experience is like for blind users, they live it every day.
Effective May 1, 2026, Techopolis LLC officially joined Top Tech Tidbits as a Sponsor. If you enjoy reading Top Tech Tidbits for free each and every week, it is sponsors like Techopolis that make it possible. Without their support, there would be no Top Tech Tidbits.
Fourteen Years of Access-Tech Engineering
Michael Doise is a legally blind iOS and macOS developer based in Austin, Texas. His track record in our community is fourteen years deep and includes some of the most foundational accessibility apps on the iOS App Store: VO Starter (which he made permanently free in 2017 with the simple rationale that everyone should know how to use their own device), ACB Link (the official iOS app of the American Council of the Blind), NFB-NEWSLINE Mobile, PocketBraille, and the WayAround mobile apps.
He also founded the iAccessibility blog in 2012 and the iACast podcast network in 2015. In 2025 he handed off iAccessibility / iACast to Lauren Bradford, freeing his attention for Techopolis. New York Magazine quoted him in their June 2024 Apple Vision Pro feature, “A Lifesaver for Disabled Users.”
Translation: this is not someone who discovered accessibility when AI got hot. This is someone who has spent fourteen years quietly building the apps you and I and 45,000 other readers already use.
Meet the Chief Operations Officer
Techopolis’s Chief Operations Officer is Taylor Arndt, who joined Techopolis full time on July 26, 2024. Born blind, Taylor is an accessibility specialist and developer who supports operations and development at Techopolis. She is the operator who helped turn Techopolis from a paper LLC formed in 2021 into the actively-shipping studio it is today.
Michael Doise leads Techopolis as the business owner and developer. Taylor Arndt supports the company’s operations and development as Chief Operations Officer. Together, they ship accessible technology.
Privacy-First, On-Device, Apple-Native
The flagship Techopolis product is Perspective Intelligence, a private, on-device AI assistant for iPhone, iPad, and Mac built on Apple Foundation Models / Apple Intelligence, with Gemma 3 4B and Gemma 4 E2B as fallback models for non-Apple Intelligence devices. It supports natural-language chat, audio transcription, OCR, image text recognition, real-time live video scene description, web search, RSS, chat memories, a deep-research agent, and integrations with Contacts, Maps, Reminders, and Weather.
There are two engineering achievements buried inside Perspective Intelligence that deserve acknowledgement. First: Techopolis was the first iOS App Store app outside Google’s own AI Edge to ship Gemma 4 E2B running fully on-device. Second: Doise solved the Key-Value cache memory-management problem that has caused most local-LLM mobile apps to crash during long multi-turn conversations.
The headline accessibility feature is the live video scene description, and unlike most comparable products, it runs fully offline.
Translation: the live video feature that describes the world around you doesn’t phone home. Your phone is the model. Your phone is the cloud.
The product family beyond Perspective Intelligence is broader than many readers realize. Perspective Transcribe (private on-device transcription, launched March 30, 2026), Perspective Meetings (recurring meeting-link organizer), Perspective Notify (push-notification utility), Beyond The Gallery (the Apple Shortcuts community), Current City (travel logging), and the still-free VO Starter. Around the apps, Techopolis runs three adjacent activity tracks: Techopolis Courses (a free SwiftUI Basics class for visually impaired developers), Techopolis Creations (a 3D-printing line producing tactile and physical accessories), and a substantial open-source program on GitHub.
The pricing philosophy is worth pausing on for a sentence. Core accessibility features, including the live video scene description and OCR, are free. Productivity features sit behind an “All Access” subscription at $5.99 per month or $49.99 per year. That is a values statement, not a price card.
Why I Wanted Them in Top Tech Tidbits
From my vantage point as Publisher, I evaluate every prospective Sponsor on three questions:
- Does this serve our readers? Top Tech Tidbits readers are exactly Techopolis’s target user, blind, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, neurodivergent, and disabled professionals, educators, and enthusiasts on Apple devices.
- Does this advance access technology? On-device, privacy-first AI built by blind engineers is genuinely new ground in our space.
- Does this respect community trust? Both Michael Doise and Taylor Arndt are blind. The vision features are free. The company has never taken venture capital.
Three yeses.
While the on-device AI architecture is impressive on its own technical merits, what stands out more to me is who built it and why.
Techopolis is not an AI company that happens to care about accessibility. It is an accessibility company that happens to ship some of the most sophisticated on-device AI on the App Store.
A Note of Thanks
Michael, Taylor, thank you.
Top Tech Tidbits remains free to all 45,000+ readers each week because Sponsors like Techopolis make it possible. All Sponsorship dollars are held in escrow and used solely to fund distribution; when the Sponsor cap isn’t met, Mind Vault Solutions, Ltd. covers the difference. Sponsors like you are the reason that subsidy stays small and the publication stays sustainable.
For the duration of the sponsorship term, Techopolis also joins the PWD Media Distribution Co-op, gaining cross-platform reach across 41 connected channels and 182,511+ BLV/PWD-specific readers per post.
